Garden Place is a center stage for civic life in Northern New Jersey. This public park functions as a crossroads for the city, the place where locals and commuters intersect. The design for Garden Place integrates a series of stormwater management planting areas around a passive recreation lawn for flexible programming. The site also boasts an Tot Lot (separate play areas for ages 2-5 and 6-12). Key to the success of this design is the proposals integration of an existing community memorial statue as a reflection of local cultural heritage and history. Slated for development, Garden Place is designed to serve and support the complex social, functional, and ecological demands of its urban environ.
